So i had to take a look. It stated something along the lines of "hey come do charity work for us and we will not only pay for room and board but we'll pay for your plane ticket too!" Boom, I found gold. This is just what we were looking for. I mean we would still have to find other jobs that actually pay so we can make some coin but this could drastically lower our costs. Throughout the week Brad and I plan on looking through various charity work and see which could prove to be most beneficial to our plan.
This trip is actually starting to become real so we really need to not only prepare ourselves but also our parents. Once Brad and I graduated high school we both left our parents with an empty house, Brad being the younger of two children and I being an only child. It is going to be interesting to see what their reactions are going to be like once we tell them that we are going to be moving to the other side of the globe.
Meeting Brad's parents a total of only two times I can still envision how it is going to break down. His mother will list off a plethora of items and tasks he needs to do before he can go on this venture like, snake bike resistant socks and Australian-sun repellent while his father will tell him he needs to do an excessive amount of chores around the house before he leaves.
While knowing my parents my whole life, I see it going a little something like this. My mother will break down crying, while my father will state how he was waiting for this day to come. Then a few hours of this they will both try and convince me that I'll never make it over there, in hopes that I will stay home.
In all It's going to be a very interesting experience for the both of us.
